Chasing the Sun coast to coast across the emerald Isle of Ireland

A excited crowd of enthusiastic riders gathered at dawn upon the historic Belfast dockyards as over two hundred riders departed at sunrise. The Irish weather put on a good show and riders descended onto the Enniscrone beachfront to witness a glorious Atlantic coast sunset to savour.

This year saw 215 starters, with 195 finishers, of which 182 riders successfully arriving on the west coast before sunset… This route is a spectacular and challenging adventure. A big congratulations to all the riders who attempted the Chase The Sun Ireland challenge in 2025 – Chapeau to you!

Sarah Austin – Making her way across another country from sunrise to sunset – with the help of some Irish sunshine and ice-cream! Seasoned Chase The Sun vibes – as a previous completer of both UK NORTH and UK SOUTH routes – Sarah is now determined to complete her collection of all 4 sunsets next year !
