This year Chase The Sun will again offer our Spring Training Days in collaboration with event partners to help support our Chase The Sun riders in preparing for the endurance challenges to come in the midsummer sunrise to sunset adventure.
We now offer you the chance to join rides of 66 miles in April & 100 miles in May…
These preparation events are designed as valuable ‘checkpoints’ and interim targets for your progress on your own training journey. Honestly, there are no ‘easy’ shortcuts… To build you stamina to ride from sunrise to sunset, you will need to be putting in the weekly miles, riding regularly to build a base fitness from early in the year. As you then build up your training in the months before mid-summer, steadily increasing the mileage, working on pacing, feeding and navigation…
We have all the tips and advice for you to follow through the Spring period here >>>

The Trainign Events are rides hosted by our partner organisers, taking place across scenic yet challenging routes located within the Surrey Hills and Hampshire countyside, both within easy reach of London.
Taking part in one or both of these timed 1/3 to 1/2 distance Chase The Sun training day rides will give you a ideal chance to test your progress on pacing, tech, fuelling, navigation, fitness and stamina in the months before the mid-summer sunrise.
You will also be able to meet a few of your fellow Chase The Sun riders to chat and share your preparations for the big day. There is also a unique chance to seek some expert tips and advice from the Chase The Sun organisers, who will be present and on hand to help with advice on the unique nuances of your longest-day challenge… whichever mid-summer sunrise route you are preparing for.

Prepare your bike, body & mind
You’ve signed up for Chase The Sun, so now let’s get into gear! You may be wondering what it takes to be ready to take on the longest-day cycling challenge.
200 miles in one day is a long way to cycle for most of us, so we’ve been talking to endurance cycling veteran Dr Ian Rodd for some tips on how to prepare and train for long-distance riding and long days in the saddle.
It’s all about bike, body and mind… oh and the odd coffee and cake stop!

Tailor your training and preparations for the unique longest day coast to coast mid-summer challenge of Chase the Sun. Meet your fellow riders, and the Chase The Sun organisers for bespoke tips and advice, as well as test your legs across our 66 & 100 mile training routes as a benchmark towards mid-summer. “
