Life Cycle is a UK based charity whose work helps change attitudes and behavior towards cycling by giving people the skills and confidence they need to cycle safely. They also offer practical, targeted support to individuals with disabilities, mental health illness, offenders, isolated older people and disadvantaged young people through a range of “Inclusive Cycling Projects”.
Since 2019, Chase the Sun has been able to support these worthy aims through our pledge to donate a proportion of our proceeds from each ride. Thanks to our riders and supporters who enable us to do this.
“We are delighted to support the amazing work of Life Cycle UK, a transformative charity which believes that cycling has a central role to play in improving individual lives, local communities and the environment.”
Olly, Chase the sun Founder
Back in the summer of 2020 we were able to visit the LifeCycle workshops in Bristol, to meet with the dedicated team there to understand and witnessing their latest efforts towards transforming peoples lives through the power of cycling. We were able to present them with a cheque donation from our previous years ride, a practice we have continued each year since. A number of intrepid riders from Lifecycle, including the two’s company blind tandem teams, have taken on riding the eipc Chase The Sun challenges in teams or in relays. Malcolm kindly wrote the following article explaining bit more about how he took on the whole 205 miles coast to coast as one of the LifeCycle team undertaking the first edition of the UK North route challenge.
Visit the website of LifeCycleUK to find out more about their organisation.
